Stephen's Left Tackle

Hi. My name is Melissa and I thought I'd do a quick intro of myself, as I am very excited to start reading this book.

http://mommarhyne.blogspot.com

I am 26 years old, I have 3 children (Carter is 4, August is 2 and Luella is 7 months). I am a SAHM and love it. We just bought our first family house, a 920 sq ft house built in 1916 in a small country town, so I am busy renovating in between nap time and snack time. I am 2 quarters shy of my BA in Architecture but that was 5 years ago when I became pregnant with Carter so that is on hold for a LONG time.
I LOVE being a wife and mother, a child of God.

The other day I was talking to hubs saying that I wanted to write a post in my blog called "Stephen's Rib", all about being a great Godly wife, etc. He said it sounded too "cultish" LOL. I said, "Well, it's just so annoying that in football, we know we need different positions. The QB (quarter back) gets all the glory but he is nothing without is blockers, receivers, tackles etc. But why does America try to make it so in marriage, both husband and wife should both be QB's, both out for their own agenda, both trying to make a name for themselves, but not really looking out for each other. It's a recipe for disaster and obvious why so many marriages end in divorce?"

And hubs said "Well then call your post "Stephen's Left Tackle" GENIUS

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offensive_tackle
A tackle is the strong position on the offensive line. They power their blocks with quick steps and maneuverability. The tackles are mostly in charge of the outside protection. If the tight end goes out for a pass, the tackle must cover everyone that his guard doesn’t, plus whoever the tight end isn’t covering. Usually they defend against defensive ends.

I feel like as his wife, that is my job : to keep anything and everything away that would keep him from doing his job of being the head of this house and bread winner, spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally. So I am excited to start this book to learn more about being everything God wants me to be, so Stephen can be everything God wants him to be.

Oh and I took a sneak peak in the book and read the intro and now I suggest everyone do the same. There are a few things you might need to buy and actually the book said we should start on a Monday, so August 2nd?

Can't wait to hear about everyone else!

Hi friends!

Hi y'all! So glad you wanted to come along on this journey! I am open for all suggestions for how to run this gathering place. This isn't just "my" blog....it is ALL of ours. My little county church does not have a womens group or anything like that, so I can't wait to read your post on this book and hear what is on your heart through this 90 day journey.

Super excited for August 1st!
